Few notes from #ISC23 day 1:

Updates on Aurora from ALCF show that progress is being made, and that of the expected 10624 nodes, 10k+ have been delivered.

Also of interest is that originally the blades shipped with "normal" Xeons, but 75% have since been upgraded to Xeon Max (the models with 64GBs of on CPU HBM2e) with the rest being installed currently.

Unfortunately no Green500 submission for the Sunspot test system, but it sounds like we're getting a 3.1 Eflops RMax in time for #SC23

#Microsoft just launched 8-way H100 #GPU nodes with 8x400G NDR InfiniBand, and the press release says "thousands of NVIDIA H100 GPUs interconnected by NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking."

Reading between the lines, these are some very large clusters. Wonder if we'll see any of them appear on Top500 at #ISC23
