That's about it for the introduction to "Gravel's Run" (see thread). At this moment, it's mostly in my head. Still working on some #worldbuilding details and overall #storystructure. Struggling with confidence that I can put it into words and make it interesting to read for anyone but myself. But I really know that #ishouldbewriting. Favorite this toot for my encouragement.

Took a break from book launch to read NETTLE & BONE by T. Kingfisher @ursulav I loved it! Fairy tale tropes that break expectations when you least expect it. The dustwife and fairy godmother magic is fabulous; not just the same ol'

Prose reminds me of The Last Unicorn. There's a similar juxtaposition of modern dialogue and classic settings, and similar beautiful turns, e.g. (The flat stones) rattled and slid underfoot, talking to each other in stone language.
