It is all bullshit, #Islamophobes fighting a proxy online war with #Islamists using an incident with a 14 year old #autistic kid in Yorkshire and a local Muslim community as a tinderbox to light. These people are superficially enemies, but the reality is they are symbiotes, feeding off each other's hatred, and off the distress both of a #disabled child and a #Muslim community which has been thrust under the national microscope. Absolute bloody ghouls. Disgusting.

Wanna know why I care so much about #TransRights? Because, as a #MuslimWoman I know a little bit about what it’s like to be hated just because of who or what you are. I don’t want to be treated like shit, and I don’t want others to be treated like shit, either.

I’ve been thinking about the various toots I saw yesterday regarding the lack of the ability to #QT on #Mastodon. I’m bothered that some of the voices complaining are #minorities, because if there’s ONE GROUP who needs protecting from QT, it’s us. As a #Muslim, I was viciously targeted & attacked by #islamophobes, and they almost always used the QT function to do it. I would have to lock my account to stop it, which was also silencing me. The #bigots would win. Is this what we want here, too?😔
