@sagitaninta @Julien_JOSEPH We tested the hypothesis of a change in selection pressure due to a change in pathogens community between island and mainland. The problem is that island populations have lower Ne and, therefore, a reduce efficacy of selection. Result: #immune genes of island species show sign of reduced purifying selection but it is not statistically different from random genes. #IslandSyndrome #MolecularEvolution #Birds #Evolution
