A special mention for the much-derided Islay ferry service - the outward ferry, Finlaggan, was much the nicer boat; a choice of lounge or airline type seating across two decks, but despite a far more basic seating area, the food (remains of haggis-loaded fries pictured above) and service on the return ferry Arran was quite something, and staff on both went above and beyond anything I’ve experienced at an airport or railway station #Calmac #Islay

Repairs to MV Hebridean Isles, that usually serves the ferry service to Islay, will be delayed by 5 more weeks.
So MV Isle of Arran will remain on the Islay route together with the MV Finlaggan. Ardrossan-Brodick will continue to be served by the MV Caledonian Isles and MV Alfred.
The Campbeltown ferry service will now be cancelled until the 24th of August.
