Think I've found my new favourite #Parkrun - Lews Castle is an amazing route and a great place for my 200th run and 50th location milestone. Kept stopping to take pictures of the scenery, but still managed to finish first in my age group (also last in my age group...) Wandered without a plan today, and found an empty beach where I collected some nice white stones, saw a seal swimming, then walked above another beach to the ruins of an old church and finally found a cafe before it started raining. Time to think while I walked, and time to write up several ideas when I got back. #stornoway #IsleOfLewis

Had a great day at the Calanais standing stones. The cross and circles as a whole are interesting, but the individual stones are fascinating to look at with so many patterns in the Lewissian Gneiss rock that makes them up. Fascinating to think of how they were erected and their status as art - people choosing certain stones for their appearance then consciously displaying them, saying "look at this, it's important". #StoneCircle #stones #calanais #Scotland #IsleOfLewis #callanish

My pal lives overlooking a narrow valley on #IsleofLewis, and sometimes late on a summers night a haar rolls in up the wee river and hangs low over the valley floor creating a cool spooky effect

I love this wee shop that always has a brilliant interesting window jam-packed with awesome unusual vintage objects and furniture. Popping in is a always a highlight of my trips up, as well as a real test of my willpower! They also have a canine staff member that makes me even more likely to go in!
