Taking up the suggestion yesterday to post more plant/flower images for the herd to admire (in addition to my usual birds)... encouraged also by my botanist wife.

This is a Hygroscopic Earthstar encountered on sand-dunes we explored last summer in the Isles-de-la-Madeleine. Unearthly.
