1491 followers · 108602 posts · Server mstdn.social@DiConX personally I' would've guessed using some cheap webcams at first but then it became.clear to me that to make it work, one needs to match the settings and optics exactly 1:1 on all cameras and every #webcam I know does automatic #ISO & #FPS adjustments in the camera which cannot be manually controlled but only worked around i.e. with absurdly bright sets...

Like, the abbreviation for #한국 / #한글 (#Hangug / #Hangul) is "KO", for "#Korean", when that's not what the language is called by native speakers, nor is it really even a word in that language. I think the best one would have been "HG", but these people never asked someone who even knew a bit of the language.
Meanwhile, they correctly labeled #Deutsch as "DE", and not "#German", which is good because "German" is not a word in Deutsch and many people from Deutschland don't know English and might legitimately not know what it refers to.
It just feels like we're dealing with inconsistencies caused by legacy #eurocentrism when we use these old designations for modern technology: I'm coding a website in #HTML that I want to have options for EN, DE, ES, and KO, and that's super weird when you've learned enough of all four to know the reality.

Réussi du premier coup à créer une clé usb bootable sur #macbookpro ET sur #pc, pour démarrer au choix 3 OS : #elementaryos, #ubuntu ou #tails, oui, 3 possibilités de boot sur la même clé ET avec persistance des données !!! 🤩
Il est même possible de redimensionner l'espace de données persistantes 😜
A priori on ne peut quand même pas changer le noyau des images #iso des OS sur la clé 😀

$ cp ubuntu-22.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso /dev/sda
/!\ en s'assurant bien que /dev/sda est la clé usb destinée à l'installation

Was going to download #OpenSuse #Aeon but they don't have a Torrent or magnet link option and the direct download is being ferried by garden gnomes who are manually printing out the packets and fighting their way across the lawn to bring me the #ISO. Not a good luck for the OpenSuse project.
