191 followers · 711 posts · Server mastodon.motorsport.org.ukWe’ve finally got gigabit FTTP. Hurrah! PfSense can deal with it. My AppleTV can deal with it (918Mb/s on Speedtest). Our iPads and iPhones do within the limits of their wifi (about 500-600Mb/s). Even my locked down work laptop does.
The Windows 10 PC used as a media hub… Nah. Resolutely refuses to download faster than about 200Mb/s. I’ve tried both the Realtek NIC (spit) and a genuine Intel NIC, different cables, etc. No difference. I’m stumped.
Any ideas?

Also Executives:
- Same password since 2009
- Still using EOL OS on laptop
- Complains about MFA
- Password manager is Excel
- New whole disk password too hard [Word1 Single Special Character Word2]
- Needs 24GB of local docs
- Needs 150GB of email
- Needs instant access to every received / sent email ever
- Complains about blocked websites
- Complains about email from sketchy investor friend from college going right into quarantine
- Please whitelist all
- Home WiFi is default or open

If you have a fresh install of Windows 10 22h2 then run updates (especially Defender updates) before installing 3rd party #antivirus apps (Trellix, in my case).
Otherwise, don't be surprised/panic when Defender flags a file as #MimiKatz.
