I wish people on #italki would respect that my profile reads "Please don't book instant lessons for your children without contacting me first". I should get paid more than a fiver to prance around the kitchen to #babyshark for thirty minutes.
@phaysis At a certain point, it seems necessary to seek out live conversations. So tomorrow I am literally flying to Mexico for two-week immersion program. When I get back, I will still keep doing my daily #Duolingo, but I imagine I will sign up for an online conversation course too. I hear good things about #iTalki.
I have a Hebrew lesson on #italki coming up in less than two weeks. I had to schedule it because the package was about to expire. 😅 I did conversational lessons for a year or so and they were super helpful, but now it has been six months and I am embarrassed to see my teacher again because I have regressed so much. 😳 #Hebrew #LanguageLearning

Had my first #italki #korean lesson today. The teacher was very nice to talk to and although I was nervous and butchered a lot of words, she was supportive and helped me out a lot. She even sent my homework and said, she will sent me a textbook we will be using even before I booked another lesson.
I’m so looking forward to learning with her and I’m so excited about the fact that I will be able to understand my favorite music and shows on my own in the bear future 🥹🥰
It was so much fun to learn languages together with my tutors 😊 I am surprised I had that many hours.

There is some #neuroscience research which suggests that we learn better in shorter chucks of time, especially for things like #LanguageLearning. So I worked out with my #iTalki #Hindi instructor to have two 30 min classes a week instead of one 60 min class, and I am liking it so much better. Now I wonder how I ever survived doing 3 hrs of Chinese class and 6 hours of homework a day for an entire year? Of course, that was 25 years ago, but I think I was pretty miserable then...

Has anyone reading this used #italki to help with learning a language? Would you recommend it?
