By way of background, I spend a lot [too much] time thinking about IT and web governance. I am currently managing a large website redevelopment project for a well-known think tank [my views do not...] & I teach a grad course on IT Governance
The tech is fairly straightforward. What keeps me up at night are the governance issues around content, taxonomy, access/roles, UX, roles, etc.
