I'm trying to formulate a sense of the law when it comes to guns vs other, normally less-lethal methods of self-defense.

For example. If I pull the trigger and kill the proselytizer who threatened my life or eternal soul on my property with a gun, it's a twitch of the finger. No effort, at all. Castle Doctrine I get away with murder.

But if I'm bare-handed, it might take me a while to choke him to death. And garden gnomes are heavy.
