Finally in 1984, the Utah prairie dog was added to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s Endangered Species List and remains on the #IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

#UNESCO and #IUCN’s expert #Reef report provides the #Australian and #Queensland Governments with a roadmap to protect our Reef and its #WorldHeritage Status.

The report contains 22 clear Reef saving recommendations, including 10 high-priority actions, which are summarised into four key points.

Urge the government to implement these Reef-saving actions now:

- Enact climate policies to limit GlobalWarming to 1.5oC – a critical threshold for the survival of #coral reefs

There are a lot of stories unfolding in Europe, America and Australia about the conservation of wild areas or rewilding land previously used for agriculture and infrastructure.

Following the introduction of key predators, research studies are revealing changes to the ecosystem of those areas over time, transitioning the land back to its flourishing origins.

#Saguaro 🌵 are an important part of the #biotic community in the #Sonoran #Desert 🏜️. They are a vital part of the diet of #Indigenous people in the area.

Due to #climate #change-related shifts in #weather, the mature individuals are no longer reproducing. They are dying without being replaced.

The #IUCN currently lists them as "least concern" but also "declining." The most recent assessment is from 2017.

Was looking for a simple species distribution map. No luck on wiki, stupid #licensing terms (written permission required if I'm getting it right. I'm really surprised) at IUCN Well... Species account pages at @gbif have map just good enough, it should be #CC, should it? I've spent half an hour trying to figure it out by googling, reading parts of the GBIF site. And there is no direct statement "yes, our maps are published on terms of license X". Nowhere. Just "well, guys, be nice and cite us with reference X". And tons of discussions about licensing for different datasets.
Can anyone tell me why not to add something like CC-BY-NC if you in fact ask for this in a informal way?
