Driving from Kentucky to Michigan via Indiana this weekend, having driven through Ohio to New York State and down to Tennessee this summer also, I find it incredibly difficult to understand how rural evangelicals dare to consider themselves persecuted in any way. 🤷‍♀️

I have so many responses to their superficial and silly “Think Jesus” signs. Most of all I’d just like to be left alone. 🕊️

Because I don’t think they’d like Jesus much. They didn’t want Syrian refugees. 💔

I had to have grief counseling during 2016 for the trauma of seeing a horrifying level of hate *for refugees* from my #evangelical faith community online. I never knew them. They were pure evil. #IWasAStranger I won’t even go to a funeral in an evangelical church now. They are not sorry. They expect ME to just forgive them and move on tho.
It’s beyond crazy making abuse. They are directly opposed to my God.
