I don't think there was much of a plan until the #BorgQueen heard #JackCrusher and thought she could use him somehow 20 years ago. Seems like she didn't know he existed until then, but it's hard to believe that in all the years (eons?) the #Borg have existed, no de-assimilated ex-borg had kids with these abilities.🤷‍♂️

#ST:TNG often failed to take Deanna Troi's role as counselor seriously.

Now, in the last two episodes of #Picard, she:

- assures #JackCrusher he can open the door and "never be alone," then actually runs off and leaves him alone when he does open the door

- fails to enforce session hours limits while working with Data

- browses vacation options while pretending to listen to a client

The last two are played for laughs. #Annoying

Kinda messed up that #JackCrusher now has to carry the same rep as his father. Everyone's gonna know about that one time he turned into a #Borg and royally screwed over Star Fleet😖

2️⃣ The show is taking a big risk with #JackCrusher. So many episodes this season devoted to building up the mystery surrounding him. They better be able to pay it all off with a decent explanation. So far, of course, it’s great. Mysterious; exciting. And it’s satisfying that Deanna is about to be the one to unlock the answers. (Whatever is behind the red door better be good/great.)

Like, 2x in a row now the episode has ended on a "and NEXT week, we'll finally find out what's so special with #JackCrusher". It's annoying at best and cynical corporate BS meant to juice streaming numbers at worst.

I feel like #PIC is way better paced this season, but there's still a couple times I've felt they bungled the flow for the sake of padding time.

They imply that #Vadic is going to get some scene chewing time with #Riker, but then nope she's taken over the Titan.

They imply that she's about to reveal the truth of #JackCrusher, nope it's not until the end of #Surrender (3x8) that we even start to pull on that thread.

Frustrating decisions.

Holy smokes! Can we please take a moment to appreciate Ed Speleers as Jack Crusher? He is incredibly good. His persona carries about the same gravitas as Picard, but let it be said that he has his own presence on that set that keeps you at the edge of your seat and we’re all here for it.
Also, Gates McFadden, gave me all the Ellen Ripley vibes. I love seen Dr Crusher back and doing justice to TNG.

Consensus within the #StarTrek #Slack at work is that the writers are really going to have to move mountains to have the #JackCrusher character not ruin the legacy of both #Beverly and #Picard.

That's probably overstating it a bit, but it's just so far out of character for either of them...

And yet, everyone who has seen the rest of the season (#IngloriousTreksperts etc) sings its praises. So there has to be something more to it... right?

In just one set of preview stills #BeverlyCrusher is both with #JackCrusher and #JeanLucPicard. My poor fan heart can't take it. I sense tension, a little bit of angst & Im loving it!

#JackCrusher Yes! I'm so glad they didn't go another direction with that one but I'm shocked that we're to believe the Captain, etc needed Beverly to confirm any of this. They just beamed them all aboard and should have comprehensive data about their genetics just lying in the ship's computer. I understand Picard may just not have wanted the confirmation but why would Captain Shaw not avail himself of the info.?
