Finished recently: CHLORINE by Jade Song. A teen competitive swimmer suffers through sexual maturity, being controlled by the adults around her, & is convinced she's a mermaid.

It's got body horror & some sexual bits, including some grooming adults. It's hard to decide if she's going insane, reclaiming her body/identity from the adults around her, or both. Queer themes abound. A memorable debut novel.
