I’d love to read the email chain inside #Apple where they came to the conclusion that implementing management of Remote Desktop in #macOS should be done via a #MDM management command with no other MDM control of permissions and settings. So I have to continue my Rube Goldberg machine of scripts and API calls to get #Jamf to do the right thing.

And yet again, Fortinet outdoes itself once more with configuring FortiClient EMS on an iOS/iPadOS device.

When deploying the configuration profile, just smack all your devices in to single app mode until EMS connects, and then turn it off. Yeah, OK Fortinet, that sounds like a fucking genius plan to me. On what planet is that a workable, scalable solution?

Reviewing some upcoming deprecations for Jamf Pro 10.48 (which cannot be discussed publicly) - I often wonder if Jamf looks at how their customers are using the product and goes:

"Yep, let's change this. That will fuck everything and cause our customers far more work again. Oh, and let's be REALLY vague about when it might happen".

Die Beta von #Sonoma verhält sich in #Jamf erstmal wie ein #Ventura Client, ist aber auch klar weil die Sonoma spezifischen MDM-Befehle noch nicht in Jamf integriert sind. Die Dinge die am MDM Framework verbessert wurden sind klein aber fein. So kann man beispielsweise dafür sorgen dass ein Mac bereits während der OOBE per FileVault erzwungen verschlüsselt werden muss. Sollte ein PreStage Environment aufgrund von fehlender Netzwerkverbindung nicht anlaufen so wird der User in Zukunft Fullscreen

@kirtap @vermutliCHEmie Ich habe heute nochmal mit Classroom und #Jamf gespielt und bei beiden kann ich zwar auf eine App, aber nicht auf eine Datei beschränken. Damit ist das aber auch prinzipiell unbrauchbar für Prüfungen, weil die S*S dann in anderen Dokumenten (gleiche App) Spickzettel haben können.
Hat sonst noch jemand eine Idee?

Just finished teaching a #Jamf 400 class yesterday. Exhausted but happy. And there are now a few more certified Jamf Experts. They can be proud of what they achieved.
