One more for #JanuaryInJapan and it's a stylish crime thriller about a pickpocket in over his head called The Thief by Fuminori Nakamura!

Next up, even though I only got one vote on my poll, I'm not Lonny Emeralds so it will be #FebruaryFromTheFrench

This is either the last or penultimate entry for #JanuaryInJapan, depending how the weekend goes, but if it's the last I ended on a winner. The Emissary by Yoko Tawada has quite a sad premise but is still a charming read because of the author's and translator Margaret Mitsutani's unique approach to language and how it changes over time. Don't miss it!

I really have enjoyed #JanuaryInJapan and I'm thinking of doing something like it next month. What do y'all think? Should it be:
One more for #JanuaryInJapan, it's the exquisite little time travel-ish gem, Toshikazu Kawaguchi's BEFORE THE COFFEE GETS COLD!

Next up for #JanuaryInJapan is Soseki Natsume's I AM A CAT. I am expecting lots! #Booktotodon
I'm back on my #JanuaryInJapan bullshit, with a classic that's even had a western movie adaptation! It's The Sailor Who Fell Out of Grace with the Sea by Yukio Mishima!

Continuing #JanuaryInJapan I finally read Haruki Murukami's A Wild Sheep Chase, which is excellent and weird, but I cannot recommend the audio edition.

#JanuaryInJapan continues with one of the few Haruki Murakami novels I haven't read. It's time for A Wild Sheep Chase! This narrator, Rupert Degas, really sounds like he wants to do noir, but it's working so far. #Booktotodon
My latest read for #JanuaryInJapan is Fuminori Nakamura's exquisite The Thief, but it's on dead tree, forcing me to read slowly (I can only physically handle/turn pages in print books for 15-20 minute stretches due to medical issues). So I might not be finished with it before January ends! #Booktotodon
