I haven't finished most of the books I started in April, but it's time for another month of the #TranslatedLitChallenge! Not only that, but on my new e-reader!

First #BookHaul of March! I basically haven't finished any of the books I bought in January and February, so apparently buying books is also a serious hobby of mine. Hopefully I get to them eventually...

I'm particularly interested in reading 'Heaven' though, ironically because I've been lukewarm about Mieko Kawakami's other novels available in English. Maybe I'll like her style more in the original Japanese.

The autor emphasizes that she won't recommend certain movies to the viewers because of the violence from/against women.
She is right, Miike's movies are so violent to be tolerated

That's a interesting perspective on the women role as victim or avenger. Women in Japanese Psy-Horror movies can give a significant impact in the viewer. My personal opinion.

Reading that page, reminds me back in 2000 or so, when I watched "Audition" for the very first time. I was so absorbed watching passively for more than one hour... then at the end a scene shocked me and I yelled: "WHAT THE HELL AM I WATCHING?"

A few days ago I started 本屋さんで待ちあわせ by 三浦 しをん, essentially a book for book lovers since it has essays related to books. It has chapters about different themes like 本の話と漫画の話 and 本が教えてくれること which have different sections that are quite short.

So far I've already added +10 books to my want-to-read shelf in goodreads so I recommend the book especially to find more Japanese books !
