Reading that page, reminds me back in 2000 or so, when I watched "Audition" for the very first time. I was so absorbed watching passively for more than one hour... then at the end a scene shocked me and I yelled: "WHAT THE HELL AM I WATCHING?"

How I really enjoyed Takashi Miike's "First Love" movie! So intense and ironically so funny!.
The bad thing: Maimi Yajima just appeared like one minute or so. I think I will watch it again tomorrow!

Kaneto Shindô's Kuroneko (or Black Cat), a 1968 Japanese ghost movie.

It begins with rape and murder perpetrated by samurai leaving only two survivors alive - two black cats.

A few years later a samurai thinks he's going to get a roll in the hay with a girl but instead has his throat torn out.

A very theatrical revenge movie. The theatricality is its main asset.
