It would be interesting to learn more about those programmes, particularly how effective they will be in ten years.

The column also praises the finances of the province. I don't doubt that the #JasonKenney ministry has worked hard to hold per capita programme spending flat, but the balanced budget is largely due to increased oil prices. #Alberta really needs to use the #HeritageFund to wean the government from the boom-bust cycles of oil royalties.

@keithzg I will make a general statement that I don't think the province should ban municipalities from making rules about health measures. #JasonKenney was right the first time: masking is the sort of question where it is appropriate to have local answer.

That's not because I think #Edmonton or #Calgary will necessarily make wise decisions.

I don't think I know #abpol well enough these days to argue with you about the policies of the #JasonKenney ministry. So let me return to #qcpol: It took nearly 50 years for the "national question" to fade in importance, and to have a provincial government whose stated aim was not to maximise transfer payments, but rather to put an end to have-not status.
