We finally got The Boy signed up for #swimming lessons today and for the first time, I really recognised the rate of #inflation over the past 20+ years. 😳

Worth every penny, mind.
Can’t put a price on a life skill that could potentially actually save his life one day.

Me and his mama are going halves, though!
He starts next Sunday. 🙂 🏊

Apparently The Boy found a small ball at the party and spent much of his time kicking it and running after it and kicking it again.

As a result, his mama signed him up for #football when they got home. He starts a three week trial (!) on 6th May. He isn’t even two yet!

As a responsible #grandparent with unrestricted access to #Vinted, I have of course since made sure he’ll be suitably attired. 😁

I have The Boy from 0730 until 1830 tomorrow. When texting me pickup and drop off times earlier, his mum said “Tomorrow’s going to be a slog, I’m sorry.”

I get to spend 11hrs with the light of my life. That’s the furthest thing from a slog I can imagine.

Yes he’s hard work and I can’t take my eyes off him for a second, but he’s definitely worth it.

Home. Three days off now.
I got through today okay, thanks I’m no small part to an unplanned and unexpected visitor at work this afternoon.

This guy. It was clearly unexpected for him too, because when I walked through that door in the wall and into the street I got the most beautiful smile, an excited exclamation of “Grandma!” and he reached for me.

That boy loves me almost as much as I love him. Almost. 💙

The Boy’s vocabulary also includes ‘oh dear’, ‘Benben’ (my cat is named Benedict, this is as good as he can manage), ‘Coco’, ‘Shrek’, ‘well done’ (I don’t feel at all patronised when he says that to me, honest 🙄) and ‘more please’.

Today he is mainly being a cheeky monkey.
