A couple things stood out:
1) CD audio tracks play in sequence throughout the levels. IIRC the track in progress at the end of one level starts again at the start of the next one. Eventually the game runs out of tracks and the rest of gameplay is silent.
I think the intended behavior is that there's one track per level, with the rest of the level silent after it finishes.

A few days ago, I posted that I'd love to see the original Star Wars Dark Forces game remastered with modern day graphics.
Little did I know that Dark Forces 2... Or Star Wars - Jedi Knight... has had a mod community do just that.
It's not 'modern' day graphics, but it is an improvement, brings features like larger resolutions, higher textures and more modern enhancements.
In short... it's bloody brilliant.
