The JWs visited on Saturday morning (the first time in several years, to be fair) and it's reminded me I can be _too_ generous with my time. I'll bear this in mind, and now calmly await the first canvassers from the Scottish Family Party (#NoLinkForYou) in the lead up to https://news.sky.com/story/margaret-ferrier-rutherglen-and-hamilton-west-by-election-to-replace-covid-rule-breaking-mp-set-for-october-12955025. I'm sure they'll be a delight.

I identify as a #NonTheist in that I don't #Believe in #Deity in the sense of having #Faith.

Deity exists because people say so.

It's been several decades since I took a philosophy of religion course, though I remember that "belief" doesn't really define religion as much as practices do. Think of the spectrum of #Christianity - #Amish, #Orthodox. #Baptists, #JehovasWitnesses, and others.
They all believe in #Jesus

Woman at door: "(inaudible)"

Wife: "My sister-in-law is one, so we're familiar and it's not for us."

Me (thinking)... That's weird, is this some kind of door-to-door lesbian thing? That's not a thing, right? Maybe collecting money for something? But then why did she say no?

Me: "What was that?"

Wife: "Jehova's Witnesses"

Me: "Oh right, my other sister. Yeah that makes more sense."
