wants to increase in the UK, and you'll recall that the B in BP stands for 'British' so its great to see BP investing over £6bn in via a new generation project, huh?

Well, yes & no - good to see a corporation actually putting money into th but the concerned is off the coast of not the UK.

Looks like Hunt's going to need more than wishful thinking to increase investment in the UK

Larry Elliott (Guardian) detect a new (partial) consensus, he calls 'Reevuntism' which sees the moving leftwards to the centre ground on the of policy while under the Labour Party has moved rightwards....

You can judge his conclusions for yourselves, but if there is a bipartisan consensus that the current policies of are as good as it gets then we are in pretty deep sh*t!

Its all very well blaming the global context for , but what the data shows is that the contribution made to inflation by goods with a low imported element is rising;

goods & services made in the UK, using UK sourced inputs are increasingly significant element in the UK's persistent inflation.

You might want (as the BoE & periodically do) to blame this on ' pay rises, but it is profits that seem to be less likely to lag prices rises...
