The first live gig I ever saw was The Stranglers on the tour to promote this album The Raven, which I had in a sleeve with a 3D cover. I’d got a few live albums of other artists but I was struck by how much they sounded like the album (& their other albums)…my mate said he was a 40 year old ice cream man. A band that came out of the punk scene, which I really got into when I was still a teenager, was The Stranglers.

The Stranglers were Hugh Cornwell (vocals, guitar), Jean-Jacques Burnel (vocals, very influential bass guitarist), Dave Greenfield (keyboards, died earlier in 2022), and Jet Black (drums, died yesterday).

This is the opening track fromt the 1978 album "Black And White".
