I’m trying out visual studio code as my new Java IDE as Jetbrain’s IntelliJ is becoming a bit too slow and sluggish for my tastes (at least the latest versions are) and oh my god I can’t believe I’m saying this, but VSC is totally doable as an IDE…

Does anyone know how I can bring back this active file ancestry and sibling tree selector at the top of the editor?

This really should be bigger than the vcpkg integration. However I rarely use #CLion without having my development tools in a docker container since they made it so _easy_. Will this run with the #Conan install inside the container?

Wow. That's it for #VisualStudio for #Mac. Support ends entirely 12 months from today, and they're not adding any more features, which means .NET 8 won't be fully supported.

#JetBrains Rider has always been superior to VS for Mac for most workloads, but I don't know how well it handles #MAUI and #Xamarin now for people working on .NET mobile apps.

Does anyone using #PHPStorm or any of the #JetBrains editors know if you can stop this *absolutely crazy* code folding line-wrap behaviour?

I fold code to get it out of the way, and yet this is the only editor I've seen that then *moves the indentation of the block to become out-dented, and also spams the entire line with highlight and text*. It's awful.

Currently running Jenkins but kind of hate it and every three months or so I start googling alternatives until I feel that it _does_ actually do what we need and I don't feel like setting up something new that's probably just as horrible.

Having a look at TeamCity though and it does seem to check a lot of the right boxes. What say ye? Yay? Nay?

TIL that Rider's smooth scrolling has special tooling for high-refresh rate monitors! The extra cost for my 120hz monitor was justified! (The extra handling is by default.)

Too bad I don't actually like smooth scrolling and was here to turn it off. 😋
