Barbara loved Jethro Tull, especially "Songs From The Wood"'. She introduced me to Ian Anderson. We actually saw him in an up close venue during one of his solo tours. I love this song.

Today’s listening is ‘War Child’, the 1974 album by Jethro Tull.

Originally planned to be a feature film with accompanying orchestral soundtrack album and also a separate ‘rock’ album, only the latter ever saw the full light of day.

This is very much an album of two sides!
Side 1 is only rescued by the final track ‘SeaLion’, whereas Side 2 is excellent stuff, containing one of my all-time fave Tull tracks in ‘Skating Away on the Thin Ice of the New Day’.

"#LivingInThePast" is a song by British #progressiveRock group #JethroTull. It is one of the band's best-known songs, and it is notable for being written in the unusual 54 time signature, though it is properly felt as a very distinct 68 + 24 #syncopated rhythm. The 54 time signature is quickly noted from the beginning rhythmic #bass pattern.

Jethro Tull - Songs from the Wood (40th Anniversary)

A slightly chaotic pull, but it was near Ivy and caught my eye when I was re-filing. But, my thought was that the release of Apartment Life was closer to the original release of this album from the 70s than today.

This is one of Tull's "folk" albums, from when Anderson moved to the country, and it and Heavy Horses are two favorites. Great playing and singing. The Remix, by Wilson, intrigues.
