I am angered by the idea that the male priesthood walks in and just throws away all of a woman's things and tears down her house - and walk out again with no obligation whatsoever to make sure supplies and housing are restored.

Where is the commandment to take care of this family? Nowhere, because it is presumed they are "guilty" of...something.

This week's Torah reading is a double portion, Tazria-Metzorah.

These ideas that women are unclean and inferior, imported from the babylonian captivity, are inserted into the mouth of Moshe, probably by Ezra and his school that edited and redacted the earlier stories and texts into "acceptable" forms.

Acceptable to whom, of course, is never explicitly stated.

On a different platform I posted why I will be celebrating Israel’s independence. I am celebrating the hundreds of thousands who never tire and come out every week to protest. I am celebrating hope. So yesterday a 15 year old shot two Jews in Jerusalem and escaped. Then he posted the story on Facebook. People always accuse those in my age group of being tech stupid. In a TikTok a Haredi man said that they do not stand on Yom HaShoah or Yom HaZikaron because it is not part of Judaism. Neither is a streusel btw. The worst imo was that he does not mourn those killed in wars on YomHazikaron because they are not part of the Zionist ideology.
