Jiangshi X - So, this couple chapter arc of our trainee monks ends with their superior coming in to stop the Level 3 Jiangshi. However, something is coming. The past few chapters have been building to what feels like an invasion.

This can go a few different ways. We could be seeing an invasion changing the nature of the series to about the trio on the run after the fall of their support base. It could be leading up to a war with huge arcs about the war effort. Or it could be something else entirely.

We'll see.

Jiangshi X - New mission for our trio in the new chapter. After a lot of exposition about the history of the Jiangshi and how they deep freeze/store the bodies as you can't exactly destroy them, we get onto the mission.

Jiangshi X - Okay, you got me. This thing was an emotional gut punch mixed in with cool, vampire battle series.

As Xiaohu quietly leads, we saw flashbacks to the death of his parents. Then he comforts the little girl in town who also lost their parents to a Jiangshi.

Ugh! Heartbreaking moment that genuinely evoked tears.
