To fill the time until I complete the second CP/M manual, here's the JiffyDOS User's Manual I did years ago

Speaking of manual for old software. I once recreated the manual for JiffyDOS in InDesign. I think it came out pretty nicely.

Just bought the "JiffyDOS" Overlay ROM files for the C64C and burned it to EPROM- 7€ was a fair enough price!

1541-II service complete.

Recapped main board, cleaned head (and everything else inside), lubricated head rails and other mechanics.

And, finally, installed the switchable option.

Project: installation into my primary 1541-II (the installation already completed).

The existing socket could not hold on to the JiffyDOS module, so I replaced the socket with a high quality, round pin socket.

Next, in went the switchable ROMs. Fits perfectly.

Both the standard Commodore as well as the JiffyDOS ROMs seem to work OK.

Now for installing the switch and putting it all back together again...

Time to do the 1541-II part of the installation.

Original ROM is socketed, so that should be breeze, right? Drill a hole for the enable switch, swap the module out with the 251968-3, done.

Well, not quite. The socket refuses to take the round pins of the module, ejecting part of it after a short while. :eyeroll:

Guess there's no way around pulling that socket and replacing it with a high quality, round pin socket...
