I love how Judy Blume gets a fair pass for saying that she supports J.K. Rowling 100%, simply by issuing a statement that she "wholly supports the trans community," but NOT denouncing Rowling's hideous and hateful transphobia.

I'm sorry, Judy, but you CAN'T have it both ways.

Now if Blume explicitly denounced Rowling's transphobia, then I would be fully in her corner. Unfortunately, literary people are so brainwashed by their childhood nostalgia that they are incapable of perceiving how inadequate Blume's response is -- even accounting for the scumbag gotcha journalism motivating the profile that Blume was quoted in.
