This is a recording that only came out on vinyl in Japan (along with its companion piece, A Day in New York), so my copy is from my CD. It's a beautiful recording of great songs. Someday I'll find a copy of the LP.

Wow, I didn't know "The Girl From Ipanema" had so *much* musical subtext.
Here's a half-hour documentary that deconstructs the 'second most-recorded song in history,' and it gets all into it: colonialism, Brazilian music, African blues, the 1960s, non-standard chords that function as verbs instead of nouns, the 'Real Book' of the 1970s, Samba vs. Bossa Nova vs. Choro vs. American jazz, and with audio/video clips.

バックのオーケストラアレンジは、他のミュージシャンがカヴァーしてる際も同じスタイルのがよく用いられてる。音楽は変化を生み出す事も大事だけど、完成度が高いアレンジはずっと用いられるのだねー
