It's #worldpoetryday , so here is the final verse of 'The Last of March' by John Clare.
'The storm has ceas'd, - again the sun
The ague-shivering season dries;
Short winded March, thou'lt soon be done,
Thy fainting tempest mildly dies.
Soon April's flowers and dappled skies
Shall spread a couch for lovely May,
Upon whose bosom nature lies
And smiles its joyous youth away.'

A rather different way of looking at Winter by #JohnClare
Tis winter & the fields are bare & waste
The air one mass of ‘vapour clouds & storms’
The suns broad beams are buried & oercast
& chilly glooms the midday light deforms
Yet comfort now the social bosom warms
Friendship of nature which I hourly prove
Even in this winter scene of frost & storms
Bare fields the frozen lake & leafless grove
Are natures grand religion & true love

‘The Thunder Mutters’ by John Clare
The thunder mutters louder & more loud With quicker motion hay folks ply the rake Ready to burst slow sails the pitch black cloud & all the gang a bigger haycock make To sit beneath—the woodland winds awake..
#JohnClare 📚🍄
Often at this leafless season I delight
To walk the woods & look for sprigs of green
To mark behind a touch wood mossy stump
Were 'toad stools' swells like little tables
From the sides & below keeps dry

After the note-heavy 5-liner yesterday, here's a much simpler sonnet about bugs.
