#JohnHJohnson was a Black American businessman and publisher. He founded the Johnson Publishing Company in 1942, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Johnson's company, with it's "Ebony" (1945) and "Jet" (1951), was among the most influential Black American business in media I. The second half of the 20th century. In 1982, Johnson became the first Black American to appear on the Forbes 400, and in 1996, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
