Alas, far less inspiring quotes for me, #JohnMilton's Sonnet 19: "They also serve who only stand and wait." Or, when I'm feeling crotchety, the inscription on the collar of the dog #AlexanderPope gifted to Frederick, Prince of Wales.: "I am his Highness's dog at Kew, Pray tell me, Sir, whose dog are you?"

Near where I live in #KenningtonOxford there is a tree on which cormorants often perch; it’s known as ‘the cormorant tree’. Milton’s description of Satan on the Tree of Life ‘sat like a Cormorant’ is just great. Not the best photograph I know. #paradiselost #johnmilton #cormorant #oxford
