Here's another haunting thought.

Even though it isn't my fear, John Nathan's insecurity is palpable.

And I always like to think about the nature of literature in translation.

I can't recall who I'm paraphrasing, but: all literature is translated at least twice; first by the author into words, and again by the reader into thoughts.
