1️⃣ A first-rate guest cast are given compelling characters to play in an inventive story about counterfeit coins. and are the standouts.

2️⃣ There are some genuinely cold-blooded murders, a gay couple (if you pay close attention) and a lot of science (lab work) to crack the case.

3️⃣ By the end, you really come to care about two of the characters.

Battle Beyond the Stars, made by Roger Corman’s New World Pictures in 1980, is Akira Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai set in space.

One of the best of the post-Star Wars space operas. Proof that talent and imagination count more than money when it comes to making movies. Great fun.
