I forgot this gem of a series, which makes me a bad 'Inspector Morse' fan. And it's a theme that's just so distinctive and perfect for the character.

A crotchety, melancholy John Thaw + Oxford = pure bliss.

This also reminds me I need to actually, you know, sit down and *read* the novels the series was based on.
