Tomorrow is International Day at work, and we're all bringing food from our home countries. How spicy should I make my #JollofRice?

@phillipjordan @janetmatlock why are we like this :-) I feel like there’s a version of the #JollofRice debate/debacle for so many foods #RiceandPeas #GravySoupStew #Oxtail - me I just love the diversity in #Caribbean #food

I'm loving google's #jollof doodle today in celebration of #jollofrice!
My recipe: saute 2 cups raw long grain rice, 4 grated cloves garlic, 1 chopped onion in 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil until rice is slightly charred (for smoky flavor). Add ginger, coriander, nutmeg, black pepper, salt, etc. Blend 1 red bell pepper, 2 tomatoes, 1 habanero (optional), 2 tablespoons tomato paste with water until you have 4.25 cups of liquid. Pour liquid over rice, stir, simmer on low heat for 25 mins, enjoy.
