An easy one, this. It popped straight into my mind and I knew it was the right answer. From the first time I heard it, and every one of the hundreds of times since, the musicality and emotional substance (never mind the jaw-dropping technique) of this song still floor me.

A recent song I learned about is this more than a decade-old piece by Jon Gomm titled "Passionflower". I think this is the best ever guitar performance I have ever seen. The percussion, the dynamic tuning, and the tapped harmonics are already insanely impressive. But to be singing on top of it? Unbelievable!
