My mother would hold all-night mahjong parties in our home during Chinese New Year with my aunts & aunties.

It was fun to watch but I never learned how to play the game.

Like learning to speak/read Cantonese, it's something that I always wish I had done but there never was any complelling need for me to do so.

Just another 3rd gen born "jook sing" in America. 🤷‍♂️
