Went to the Newport Jazz Fest this past weekend. The genre range was wider than ever, incl. bebop, fusion, soul, hip hop, & even Anderson .Paak DJing up a storm. My faves were more trad (whatever that means these days) and on the smallest stage: the Dave Holland New Quartet and the Julian Lage Trio.
