If anything, this early Safdie Bros film, The Pleasure of Being Robbed, is string of beautiful moments in the life of an attractive klepto girl (Eleonore Hendricks) walking around New York City. I was expecting a typical mumblecore, and the film does have a lot of driving scenes for Safdie to jam in as much indie music as possible. But it really charmed me. The klepto part isn't even a big draw here. The film just floats. Eleonore just wants to connect with people by going through their stuff. I loved its simplicity and effortlessness of filmmaking.
