Although he didn't belong to the Academy of #Painting & #Sculpture, he became #Painter to the #King & lived at the #Royal #Garden until he died.
In 1722, he changed his will, leaving his most-prized possession, a #Cabinet from Jean #Joubert, to the #Botanist Bernard #Jussieu.
Today, the genus Aubrieta ("Aubreesha") is named for Claude Aubriet. After #Flowering, #Pruning will encourage new #Shoots.
