Remember when you could just pay for one copy of one day's newspaper?

I subscribe to two online papers- I don't want to subscribe to a third that carries 90% of the same news. But sometimes I see there is an article that looks interesting and to read it I will have to subscribe to that paper. Why can't I just buy today's paper?

I would even "subscribe" (give the paper my email and credit card number) as a per-day reader if that meant I could pay a la carte.

I have never learned how to spell the word "cushions" and at this point---writing career be damned---I simply refuse.

I spell it so badly, and not on purpose, that it autocorrects to "cousins" and I have to google a couch to figure it out.
