Increasingly the big grant applications I review read something like: “take a bunch of trendy keywords (AI! Disinformation!) mash them up and give some implicit idea that you understand there can be an industry application of your work.”

I always say negative things about these grants and they are always funded.

A few good questions about that #towreport asking if deactivation is really a good metric to talk about journalistic Twitter usage. The main finding of the report is that journalists Tweet approximately 3% less, with some right-wing journalists tweeting more.

I also have more to say about the positive value of deactivation, which is something I have done myself ... but that's for another thread on another day ;-)
