Just a passing blip of a thought while #joyscrolling #mastodon. What if every #ChatGPT interaction, along with #AI_Art could run a SHA256 hash of everything heading out the door. Then anyone who has that output could just check to see if that SHA value is on-file with #OpenAI. Obviously you could just change one word or a bit of punctuation or add some meta information to change the hash… unless you had ten random words in the text or maybe a color count of a 1px diagonal line in an image+

Someone else put it very well recently, that it’s the difference between #DoomScrolling and #JoyScrolling. People might take time to learn or to re-learn.

Even though there’s plenty of #news, much of it bad, on #Mastodon, I don’t find myself #DoomScrolling. It’s not #JoyScrolling, either. It feels like more of a community experience than #TheFowlPlace. Maybe…#ShareScrolling?

I wonder if the #fediverse will create a new phenomenon called #joyscrolling ? I want to believe it can happen and I’m here for it.

I like what Matt Mullenweg was quoted as saying in a recent TechCrunch article (https://techcrunch.com/2022/11/21/tumblr-to-add-support-for-activitypub-the-social-protocol-powering-mastodon-and-other-apps/):

“you’re not doomscrolling, you’re joy-scrolling.”

I feel like I'm #joyscrolling on #Mastodon and #Tumblr. I don't think I felt that about Twitter for years.

My hope, though it might be overly optimistic, is to see Joyscrolling replace Doomscrolling as part of social media culture. Not being blissfully unaware of social ills and other important issues we should all be attuned to, but to be able to spend moments of our day being reminded that humans can also be amazing and creative and loving. #JoyScrolling (wanna make it a thing)
