Many academics know about JSTOR, but how many know about JSTOR Daily? The stories there are an eclectic blend of research they’ve published and creative headlines sure to entice even the most dissertation-weary curiosity seeker.

U.S. Lieutenant Joseph “Ed” Carter who was imprisoned at Stalag Luft III, a German prisoner of war camp that mostly housed airmen, was able to keep a journal, a digitized version of which is available on JSTOR courtesy of Wake Forest University.
The journal falls somewhere between a collage, an art project, and a diary.

FYI any resident of #Massachusetts is entitled to a Boston Public Library e-card which gives you #JSTOR access. Reading a historical series and want to learn more about the period so I just downloaded some articles on topics mentioned in the #books #MA #BPL

A friend once advised: take a nonfiction book and look for the chapter that was the original paper before they put all the filler in and just read that. Since we always have trouble finding semi-academic nonfiction books to read I've started making my own by downloading JSTOR papers and having them printed and bound. Here's the contents of the latest one: #JSTOR #reading #books #AcademicPapers

Was trying out Microsoft's AI chat on Edge and it gave me an answer quoting an interview and attributing it to JSTOR rather than the original publication. So I was like, wait, you mine JSTOR? How much do you pay for it? I got a "I'd rather not pursue this conversation anymore" kind of reply... but now I'm thinking whether I can concoct a clever plan to ask it about things behind paywalls. #JSTOR #AI #Microsoft #AcademicPapers #Academia

"(Benevolent organizations) also held parades to mark all sorts of holidays and festivals, and for many other reasons, too... By the 1880s, parades were near-daily events in the city. For Black New Orleans communities in the Jim Crow era, they also became a form of protest, challenging segregation by openly marching through public streets all over the city."

Aaron Swartz died 10 years ago this month. Papers in the humanities continue to be inaccessible compared to STEM.
Had a line stuck in my head I couldn't remember from where. It was Karen Finely's *We Keep our Victims Ready,* a play subject to a Supreme Court case after the NEA revoked Finely's fellowship. Googling the line revealed no relevant search results, and I had to email a drama professor to re-learn the name of the play.

Aaron Swartz chiamato Il figlio di internet: Storia di Aaron Swartz - The Internet’s Own Boy.
