#ChristianPetzold ‘s #Gespenster is a great entry point to get into the world of #BerlinerSchule, the first major film movement since the heydays of New German Cinema of the 60s and 70s. Its cold & unforgiving atmosphere & lost people on the road, not from the romantic notion of wandering, but from the economic anxiety of the PostWall Germany, all embodied by Nina & Toni, yearning for Germany that has never materialized under neoliberal capitalism.
